NICE TO BE BACK IN CHARLOTTE, November 28
November 29, 2007
Hello again! It is my second day home and it is nice after being in the hospital for two weeks. It feels great to be home and be in my own bed at night. Thank you to everyone who has written on my blog site and sent me cards and letters. It means so much to me to know that so many people prayed for me and wrote such nice messages. I feel pretty good except for my back pain but I will get through it. I do not have much strength and even writing with a pencil is not the same. Every day is a little better. My balance is a bit off so I need help walking for right now. I use my walker and my parents help me. I hope to be walking on my own before Christmas. I cannot get up on my own yet because I am not strong enough. My family has to get things for me and help me do everything. I still have my TPN line in my body and will stay hooked up to the TPN machine for 12 hours each day until the doctor tells us to stop. This TPN line is difficult some days but it made a big difference in my life because it helped me gain about 10 pounds before my surgery.
The past two days I have been tired but do spend my day reading, watching tv, walking in the house, playing with my dog and playing a few video games. My dog Buddy has been real excited having me around. He always wants me to play with him and he licks me a lot. I will write again tomorrow to tell you how my recovery is going.
Julia

Julia,
We are sooo proud of you! You have fought like a champion! We are so happy that you are now at home in Charlotte. As a nurse, I know what you have been through. On a personal level, I can only imagine. However, you are truly a trooper! We did not realize that this blog existed or else we would have read it daily instead of all of it now. With your angels and the saints beside you, you have fought a victorious battle. I know your family loves you and that you have everyone around you to help. Good luck with the rehab. Hope your recovery is speedy! Hope to see you soon.
Love,
Frances & Tommy
