MONDAY MORNING UPDATE (11/19, 8:30am)

November 19, 2007

Julia had a good night’s rest.  She is continuing to rest now.  Several doctors, surgeons and specialists have dropped in to check on her.  We hope to make more progress on respiratory today and cross some hurdles.  Waiting on an update regarding Julia’s chest tube and when we might be able to get this out.  We understand that Dr. Campion will be by the room later today to change Julia’s surgical dressing on her back.  Julia spoke through her CPAP mask this morning and said she just wants to go home.  We told her that she is into Day 6, and we hope to get her home soon.  Please continue to think of Julia and pray for her.  We want to get her well enough to move out of ICU into a regular room so she can begin therapy and rehab.  Short week this week so everyone enjoy time off with your families.

    Dear Julia,
You are an incredible being that God has created! You have no idea the impact you have made on every single person that knows you! Even though you are only 14, you have the wisdom, the spirit, the fortitude, the faith of someone much older than you. Make no mistake that the Holy Spirit is in your being working within you to make you better. We are praying that your lungs will soon breath effortlessly and fully (all on your own) and we are praying for the night you get to sleep in your own bed! We are praying for your entire family for strength, peace and limitless faith on this day and forward. Please, Heavenly Father, keep up the great work! Love, Irene, Billy, Maria, Dimitri and Christina Liapis

Dear Julia, i just read the last update on your great progress and want to say that the Lord does love you and know your determination and will to overcome this painful and difficult process of gaining the physical progress of your health in the best possible way. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and with your strong, loving and vigilant parents and family. Julia i am very much impressed with the bond of love, care and concern which exists in your family that teaches how the blessed family should be. I am sure we all join our prayers not only because it is a great need and thus expected but because you are a faithful Christian and the Christian committment of your family is exemplary and a guiding light for all of us. May the Lord continue to bless you and give to you a speedy recovery. I am looking to see you tomorrow and to be inspired again by your intelligence, patience and strength that you always have. May God Bless you and may you have a good and restful night. Fr. Stathi, presvyteres and Giannoula send their love and wishes. With love and gratitude, Fr. Michael

Dear Julia, Ms. Frances told me you saw her and you gave her all your hugs. I do hope you were able to save one for me too.
I am glad the surgery is done. Now is the time to focus your time & energy on healing.
Listen carefully to the instructions of your health team. They all are working together to help you heal safely, not just quickly. Sometimes it will hurt to do your exercises. Tell your parents if this happens. You can cut back on the frequency or number of times you do the exercise, but just for a day or two. Sometimes strength returns slowly.
I also hope you have continued your study and practice with Iconography. I would love to have an original Icon “by the hand of Julia”
May our Blessed Theotokos enfold you & your family in her arms and wrap you with her love, warmth and healing.
I am looking forward to my next hug…
    Love,
    Ms. Pat
